MILLENNIAL PODCAST (Radiotopia) - Creator/Host/Senior Producer

Developed Millennial from a one-woman passion project to a full-time Radiotopia show with up to 400,000 monthly listeners. For three consecutive years, it made The Atlantic’s “50 Best Podcasts” list and was recognized by The New York Times, The Guardian, Refinery 29, BuzzFeed, and The Huffington Post

For 47 episodes, my responsibilities included: 

  • Lead host, writer, producer, sound designer, and mix and masterer on all 47 episodes

  • Managing a team of two (editor and producer)

  • Managing and hiring contractor editors and contributors

  • Directing and organizing the production schedule and workflow

  • Building and maintaining the brand on four different platforms 

  • Growing a business, pitching ads to companies, and cultivating professional relationships with sponsors like Squarespace

  • Posting social media + writing different articles for press

  • Managing the budget of Millennial as an independent podcast business


WILD (LAist Studios) - Senior Producer/Editor/Writer

In 2020, alongside writer Erick Galindo, I co-created WILD, named “Best Podcast of 2021” by Spotify and The Atlantic. Out of over 48 million podcast episodes, an episode I wrote, sound designed, and produced, “WILD: How Do I Love Someone” was named “Best Podcast Episode of 2021” by Apple Podcasts.

My responsibilities included: 

  • Designing the tone, style, and format of the show

  • Developing and pitching a pilot

  • Leading production meetings

  • Managing the production schedule + budget

  • Hiring and managing four producers

  • Lead writer, producer, and sound designer on “Episode 7: How Do I Love Someone?”

  • Lead sound designer “Episode 10: How Do I Move On?”

  • Editing all 10 episodes

  • Communicating across all of LAist Studios departments, including: Finance, Marketing, Development, Operations, and upper management


“CALIFORNIA LOVE” PODCAST (LAist Studios) - Senior Producer

In 2020, “California Love” was named one of the best podcasts of 2020 by Apple, Spotify and The Atlantic.

My responsibilities included:

  • Inventing the show’s sonic identity and foundational workflow 

  • Leading production on P Line and Compton Cowboys

  • Final sound design on Prologue, P Line, Kobe, and Compton Cowboys

  • Collaborating and managing third-party contractors

  • Hiring an AP, Producer, Editor, and Composer  

  • One-on-one training in ProTools

  • Managing five people, an eight-month production schedule, and budget

  • Communicating across all of LAist Studios departments, including: Finance, Marketing, Development, Operations, and upper management


THE HABITAT” PODCAST

Named one of the best podcasts of 2018 by Vulture, Time, Thrillist, and Esquire and
downloaded more than 5 million times, The Habitat was Gimlet Media’s first binge-released documentary series.

My responsibilities included:

  • Sculpting, scripting, and assembling Episode 7

  • Pre-interviewing and booking guests for the bonus episode

  • Directing tracking, cutting and logging tape, and providing editorial feedback for all episodes  

  • Pitching and developing The Habitat’s live show for Gimlet Fest 2018
